Gallery and museum professionals are often at the forefront of institutional and cultural change. How are you rethinking institutional practices, breaking down silos, and fostering interdepartmental and community collaborations?

We invite you to submit case study proposals for the GAME Conference 2026, taking place June 4–6 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, hosted by Remai Modern on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River, on Treaty 6 Territory and the Traditional Homeland of the Métis.

This year’s conference will explore methodologies for reimagining institutional practices, breaking down silos, fostering interdepartmental and community collaborations, and creating holistic, community-centred experiences. We encourage proposals that highlight relationship-building, reframing knowledge and access, deconstructing art interpretation, and honouring multiple perspectives while addressing institutional challenges.

Selected presenters will share stories about innovative programs, exhibitions, partnerships, and best practices. Presentations should be 30 minutes, with an additional 15 minutes for questions and discussion. Presenters will receive a discounted registration rate of $350 for the full conference.

Submissions should be no more than 1 page in length and should include the following:

  • Case study title and description
  • Your contact information and a profile of your gallery/museum (1 paragraph)
  • Presentation overview, including program development, audiences engaged, and lessons learned.

Your submissions should answer some or all of these questions:

  • How do you use decolonial interpretative approaches?
  • How do you utilize your spaces creatively? What tactics or methodologies do you use to make your work more visible, relevant, and impactful?
  • Examples of projects co-created with internal or external teams or audiences. How are you engaging audiences in a period of significant cultural and institutional change?
  • How do you engage in reflective practice?

Please fill out this Google Form to send your submissions no later than 11:59 p.m. on April 7, 2026. Submissions will be acknowledged, and selections will be made by April 20, 2025.
